It’s finally starting to feel like Spring in the DC area, which means it’s time to get back into doing the things. With a random day off work yesterday, I took to one of my favorite trails.

It was a bit longer walk than usual. At one point I saw a sign saying it was just 3.9 miles to Algonkian Park. I thought about doing that, but I didn’t really have quite that much time. I did make it to see the Trump Golf Course, which means I was a bit more than halfway there.
My tracker says I covered 4.5 miles and had a total elevation gain of 472 feet, which I think most people would classify as “easy” though being my first hike in a few months it felt a little bit more strenuous than that. Nevertheless, it felt great to be back on the trails and really just to enjoy the beginnings of spring weather here in the DC-Area.
Now the challenge is making sure I keep doing more of this. Familiar trails are fun, but I’m really looking for good ideas for new trails to take on. Suggestions welcome.
